Back successful 1959, the Army Corp of Engineers carved its ain Echo Base into the Greenland ice arsenic a testbed for launching atomic missiles from Arctic locations. The basal was abandoned successful 1967, but a caller scan from NASA shows it’s inactive sitting 100 feet beneath the crystal — on with each its radioactive waste.
